The Public is invited to the following meetings:
Many families would like to put their kids in private schools or to home school them but find it is out of reach due to cost.
HB215 addresses this but only for low income families. Very few families in HD48 will benefit.
GOUD proposes we expand educational freedom for ALL who choose private or home schooling:
These programs will return your own money to you. No subsidies means no need for government regulation of the schools you choose.
Using all sorts of excuses, our legislators have voted to keep their calendars secret from you, their bosses.
Do you think they're hiding which billionaires, lobbyists, and special interests they meet? How many legislators met with Gail Miller, her executives, or lobbyists before approving $1 billion of our money to build a stadium for Gail's baseball team? We will never know now because of SB240.
I would have voted against SB240 (exempting calendars from GRAMA) because I support transparency.
I will release my calendars (see calendar for March). I will work on bills for public access to government records at low or no cost.
GOUD helped expose that Salt Lake County allows intact, biological men to use women's locker rooms to change and shower together with women and girls, as long as those men are "Nude but not Lewd."
GOUD is hopeful the State Legislature will ban biological men from sharing women's safe spaces and locker rooms this Session.
If the County Council or State Legislature does not, GOUD will propose a bill in the next session to prevent biological men from using women's locker rooms, showers, and other safe spaces.
Since 2020, many homeowners have experienced property tax bill increases of 40% or more.
GOUD will propose a bill limiting how much your property tax bill can increase yearly.
This cap on increases will allow families to financially plan better and stay in their homes for the long haul.
Of course, the government will always want more tax revenues. GOUD will work with the Legislature to negotiate a reasonable solution to cap property tax increases.
Billion-dollar hedge funds are buying
up our communities and making
housing unaffordable for Utahns.
According to the Pew Charitable Trust, institutional investors purchased 28% of all homes for sale in 2022. Average Utahns cannot compete because these investors can borrow money at very lower rates.
Your kids and grandkids should be able to buy homes in our communities. We should ban institutional investors from buying homes.
GOUD will propose a bill to limit
hedge funds and investment
firms from buying Utah homes.
The Lieutenant Governor must check citizenship for registered voters. Currently, she does not.
GOUD will propose a bill requiring the LG to audit voter rolls to determine how many of those registered to vote are not US Citizens.
The first step will be to have the LG's office evaluate the voter rolls to determine if non-citizens are registered to vote and, if they cannot make that determination, to tell us what other resources they need to evaluate the citizenship of registrants.
GOUD has been working with Legislators to narrow the ecclesiastical exemption to the "Duty to Report" child sex abuse.
Currently, if an individual confesses to a clergy member that the individual is abusing a child, the clergy member is not required to report the sexual abuse to state authorities.
The law must be changed to protect children who are being sexually abused.
Utah's governor is essentially the CEO of the entire state and earns a pay package of $210k ($175k salary plus benefits).
Few people know that many state employees are paid far more than that.
For example, Tracy Gruber at DHHS has a pay package of $333k. Her husband, as the Executive Director of the Wasatch Regional Front Council, has a pay package of $343k. Together, they will take home $676k this year!
That's not public service; that's getting rich on the backs of taxpayers.
GOUD will propose a cap on state government salaries to be less than the Governor's salary and make public service precisely that.
GOUD helped get HB228 passed. This bill changed the types of therapy treatments available to children suffering from gender dysphoria.
Under our old rules, if a child was born male but later felt like a girl, therapists were forced to affirm the child's “chosen" gender as if it were a permanent choice. This could, in some cases, lead the child down the path of puberty blockers, cross sex hormones, and sex reassignment surgeries.
Under the new rules, therapists can give children more options of care, including helping them become comfortable with their birth sex.

Equality Utah has way too much influence in Utah. The case for having a #gayconservative in the #utleg.
The process used to pass bills must be fair & transparent to all sides. As your legislator, I will oppose significant bills introduced toward the end of the session where the process is being gamed to reduce public input and opposition. #utpol #utleg #district48
As your representative, I will work to ⬆️ transparency of govt and ⬇️ the cost of GRAMA requests. I also will voluntarily release my calendar at the end of every month so you can see who I have met/events I attended. #utpol #utleg #district48
